Accomplishments

GGMS was created in 2008 as a non-profit society.

  • 1st Annual Memorial Hockey Game held on March 2, 2008

    • Raised gross proceeds of over $58,000

    • Provided over $43,000 in AED grants

      • May 1, 2008 – 4 AED purchase grant to PNE

      • May 1, 2008 – 4 AED purchase grant to Canlan Ice Sports Burnaby 8 Rinks

      • May 1, 2008 – 1 AED purchase grant to Canlan Ice Sports North Vancouver

      • June 5, 2008 – 8 AED purchase and training grant with City of Burnaby (Eileen Daily Centre , Kensington Arena, Cameron Complex, C.G. Brown Memorial Pool, Bonsor Recreation Complex, Bill Copeland Sports Centre, Burnaby Lake Sports Complex West, Burnaby Lake Arena)

  • 2nd Annual Memorial Hockey Game held on February 22, 2009

    • Raised gross proceeds of over $66,000

    • Provided over $49,000 in AED grants

      • January 14, 2009 – 1 AED purchase grant to Canucks Alumni

      • January 30, 2009 – 2 AED purchase and training grant to the Burnaby Winter Club

      • March 30, 2009 – 3 AED training grants to the PNE

      • May 2, 2009 – 1 AED purchase and training grant to Saint Patrick’s Regional Secondary High School

      • May 2, 2009 – 1 AED purchase and training grant to Archbishop Carney Regional Secondary School

      • May 2, 2009 – 1 AED purchase and training grant to Notre Dame Regional Secondary School

      • May 2, 2009 - 3 AED purchase and training grant to the City of Burnaby (Willington Community Centre, Edmonds Community Centre, and Confederation Park Senior Centre)

      • September 30, 2009 – 1 AED purchase and training grant to the Britannia Centre – Ice Rink

      • November 16, 2009 – 1 AED purchase and training grant to the Shadbolt Centre For The Arts

      • December 4, 2009 - $15,000 AED purchase grant to the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation and the Fire and Rescue Services of the City of Vancouver.

  • March 27, 2010 - The Beat Goes On Gala

    • Over $30,000 raised

      • October 8, 2010 - Donation for $2,500 from the Vancouver Firefighters Charitable Society

      • Grants for AED's in 6 Vancouver Community Ice Rinks

      • GGMS has donated 5 AED's to Empire Field

      • The grant of AED's were made possible by the generous support of London Drugs.

  • February 11, 2011 – The Beat Goes On "A Red Tie Affair" GALA

    • Over $30,000 raised

      • Grant For 1 AED to Pitt Meadows Secondary School with Training

      • Grant for 2 AED’s to City of West Vancouver

        Glen Eagle Community Center

      • Grant for 8 AED’s to City and District of North Vancouver: 
        Harry Jerome Community Recreation Centre (arena) 
        Karen Magnussen CRC (arena)
        William Griffin CRC (lobby)

        Mickey McDougall CRC (lobby)
